Our School
Haywards Farm School is a unique learning environment that has the friendly, personal feel of a small village school, the nurturing feel of a home, whilst also being rich in specialist professional support.
Based in a rural area of West Berkshire rich in nature and countryside, we provide a caring, supportive environment where we provide educational support (Key Stage 1 to 2) where children are able to learn and thrive.
We have a simple and proactive way of creating quality over quantity, increasing the children’s overall schooling experiences and outcomes.
We work with pupils with a variety of identified needs including Emotionally Based School Avoidance, Anxiety, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (which may affect their speech and language development), Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD), Cognitive brain delay, trauma and sensory overloads, which have resulted in system shutdowns and meltdowns.
We provide a welcoming, therapeutic, and emotionally empathetic context for children who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings, either as a result of specific learning difficulties or more complex communication and interaction difficulties.
In line with our school quote ‘“I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be’, many of our children have found themselves on a different trajectory from where they started on their school journey. Haywards Farm has, however, created an environment and developed its vision and mission to ensure they can get with support, get back on track, where they can ‘Feel safe, be inspired and feel a sense of belonging again'.
Our school is a place to flourish and become the successful young people they so rightly deserve to be and where opportunities are presented to them to triumph.
With small class sizes, there is a wonderful sense of community and constant opportunities to build strong relationships between the pupils and the school team, who are as equally as important to our school family.
Our off-site therapeutic alternative provision farm and our equine therapy centre provide off-site therapeutic input and enrichment opportunities for all our pupils and additional enrichments.
